Biography
Dr. Maruša Varl, LL.M. graduated cum laude from University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Law, in May 2012. In her class, she had the best average and the shortest time to finish her undergraduate studies. In recognition of her academic performance, she received the Faculty’s award for outstanding academic achievement.
After earning her law degree, she started professional career as a judicial trainee at the Higher Court of Ljubljana. During the internship she was named the head of judicial trainees. In 2013, she spent 5 months at the private law department of the Republic of Slovenia Supreme Court, where she assisted a Supreme Court justice. In September 2013, she participated in University of Oxford summer law school.
After passing the bar exam in October 2014, she finished an LL.M. program at New York University in New York, USA, where she was among 10 outstanding students, who received Hauser Global Scholarship. In 2018, she successfully finished her doctoral studies at University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Law, where she defended her doctoral dissertation »Punitive Damages«.
In 2019, she started working as an independent attorney. In June 2020 she and attorney Jernej Radež, LL.M. founded the Radež Varl Law Firm.
